Can oxistat (oxiconazole nitrate cream) treat athletes foot?

It%26#039;s an antifungal cream my doctor prescribed for me to treat ring worm. Can it treat athletes foot?|||You should never use a prescription for any reason other than the prescribed purpose.

Consult a physician.

GOOD LUCK.|||Miconazole Nitrate certainly can. But I find no listing of the two being brand names of the same medication. Oxistat is listed as a broad specrtum fungicide, and therefore most certainly will control both ringworm, athlete%26#039;s foot, and yeasts. The old standby Miconazole was noted for rapid deep penetration into tissues. If the new stuff turns out to be just a marketing scam on a better older product, Miconazole is there for you. However, in tropical rare footrot, it takes straight bleach, the chlorine smelly stuff at ~5% sodium hypochlorite to kill it. Good luck. Regards, Larry.
