Lamisil cream isn't curing my athlete's foot!?

I%26#039;ve been using lamisil twice a day for about 3 weeks as the doctor prescribed and directed but it isn%26#039;t working! I try to keep my feet as dry and clean as possible and have been wearing flip flops.

I know this is disgusting but the skin is peeling, it hurts and it%26#039;s sort of spreading to my other toe so now i%26#039;m just gopping on tons of cream and rubbing it in with q-tips. UGH, I%26#039;m so embarassed!

What do I do now?

How do I prevent it from spreading?

It%26#039;s ugly looking! lol|||Tinactin Antifungal Athlete%26#039;s Foot Cream has Tolnaftate 1% in it. If it works for you you should notice a change within 24 hours. If there isn%26#039;t a change in 48 hours I would talk with the Doctor. For some reason Lamisil is not effective on your fungus. People seem to think that lamisil is a cure all but not in all cases. If it was working you would have noticed some improvement by now.

Were the people that made Aftate.|||Persevere for another couple of weeks or so and if it doesn%26#039;t work you will have to try something else. You could try something like goldenseal ointments, garlic cream, or coconut oil as a natural alternative remedy. Both of these have antifungal properties. There is also tea tree oil, which you can use concentrated on the feet but if the skin is broken it is best to dilute in a cream base.

Here is a list of some herbal alternatives:

Good luck. It might take time to clear but persevere. You are taking all the right precautions form what you have wrote.

Best wishes.|||Ask your doctor if you can take antifungal oral medications as well.|||Use Gold Bond Powder, works great|||Look for a spray or cream with Tolnaftate 1%.

My favorite brand of fungus spray and gel was Aftate. They discontinued the product but it might still be in the store. Tolnaftate worked for me when Lamisil didn%26#039;t. There are other brands, some generic that have Tolnaftate in them.

It could be that you might need an Oral antifungal medication. If you don%26#039;t stop the fungus it could get in the nails. When the fungus gets in the skin you might need an oral medication.
